It’s been snowing in New York recently. That tends to come with the territory in winter. On Monday, we had eight inches of snow. Even though my hands were freezing, I took my gloves off for a moment to snap a photo of Park Ave. covered in snow.

Monday’s snow seemed particularly beautiful. I don’t know if it’s because of the biting cold we’ve experienced over the last few weeks or the dry air or the remaining snow from last month, but this snow seemed different.

Tree branches appear coated in a sheath of glass, sparkling like dewdrops and gemstones when the sun hits them. Planters along the sidewalk are covered in white blankets, so fine and puffy look made from wool. Tiny icicles crystallize on awnings.

It’s hard to tire of the snow when there’s so much to take in.
